My First Income and Traffic Report

Welcome to True and Pretty’s First Income and Traffic report. If you’re new to True and Pretty, you may be wondering why I would want to publish my income report online.

I know, it’s a bit taboo to disclose what you made/lost. I wrestled with this idea of publishing my income and expenses online for awhile now. But, after much thought, why the heck not?! So, going forward (until I decide to stop), I’ve decided to create a monthly blog traffic, income, and goals report. I have a few reasons why I decided to start doing this, but here are my big 3:

1. As a new blogger, I’ve been inspired by reading other bloggers monthly reports. Specifically, what they’ve learned, what they’d do differently, and other strategies that helped them grow their following.
   .
   Pinterest is chalked full of blog income reports! I could probably spend hours reading them all.  Hopefully, my blog reports will help other newbie bloggers as well.
   .
2. I’m eager to share what I’ve learned over the past 30 days.  SEO, Pinterest, Social Media, etc…There is SO much to learn in the blogging world! Though it’s sometimes overwhelming, I’m looking forward to becoming a blogging subject matter expert.
   .
3. By publishing my goals in such a public forum, I’ll be able to hold myself accountable more than I would if I just wrote down a few goals in my notebook. Plus, I’d like to connect with other bloggers who might be aiming toward the same goals.

I launched this blog  January 2017, I was 7 months pregnant with our Daughter (who is now almost 3 months old :). This report is way overdue! For, I made money in my first 30 days after launching this blog! I know, mad late. But, I was busy being pregnant and preparing for our bundle of joy!

Traffic Report 

I’ve installed Google Analytics before the blog was launched to help with tracking my page views and metrics AKA traffic. Below is a screenshot of my first month launched. Nothing crazy… But, I am proud.

966 Total Pageviews

I accomplished that without much advertising, (clearly) no schedule was used (I wonder if I did what would it be… sigh). Listed below are the following month’s page views before I joined Tailwind in May 2017.

January 2017– 966

February 2017 – 430

March 2017 –  193

April 2017 – 247

May 2017 –  1, 173  (Installed Tailwind May 27th, what a difference, huh)?

What I Accomplished So Far

My Goals For True and Pretty:

It’s important to have a plan and goals. They help you stay motivated and focused. I’m sharing my blog goals publicly in hopes it’ll help keep me accountable and hopefully help others along the way. Below are goals I have for True and Pretty:

• Earn $3,000/month. I would like to be able to stay home with our Daughter without causing financial stress to our family.
• Grow True and Pretty to 10,000 monthly page views. This would be fantastic to hit! I would love to see how the blog grows, and the readers that can benefit from what I have to offer.
• Create a product to sell. Creating an evergreen product will help make my first goal of staying home with our Daughter possible by diversifying my income.
• Grow my e-mail to 1,000 loyal readers. I’ve heard a lot of good can come out of one’s email list. I hope to be able to build and foster connections this year.
• Post on True and Pretty once/twice a week. Either Tuesday/Thursday. I think I’ll be able to accomplish this goal because I currently have a month and a half written and scheduled out for every Tuesday’s.
• Promote the blog better. Currently, as you know my numbers are low. But, I’ll like that to change. I’m going to only focus on these 3 social media platforms at this time. But, really the BIG P!

  • Facebook – 1,000
• Continue learning and improving. On all aspect of my life. Especially this blog. I hope to someday grow it into a successful business.
